Step Out is not just a Christian organization but also a ministry that deals with healing and deliverance. Thus, we are faced with tough issues facing the world today that we have to properly address and deal with. Our views on these issues will always align with the views of Jesus Christ. We expect every member of our organization to also ethically align with Christ. Below is a detailed stance this organization carries on some of the issues of today.
We believe in God's original plan for marriage, one man and one woman united in the sacrament of matrimony.
Since we believe in following the laws of the land, we believe that marriage entails getting married legally, under the law.
We understand that God created marriage, and that He loves marriage. We also understand that it was the hard hearts of men that first opened the door to divorce, and what continues to open that door.
We believe that every marriage has its own unique situation, and many times it can feel easier to call it quits than to deal with those situations. We believe that rather than focusing on leaving or staying within a marriage, the focus should be turned to Jesus Christ.
Through Christ we are brought into the true purpose and understanding of marriage as it was created by the Father. Most importantly, the eyes are opened to the true roots of the issues which lies within, thus opening the door for the husband and wife to not only walk in their individual destinies but their marital destiny.
We believe that God created only two genders, male and female, and the planned gender of God for a person is the gender he or she is born with.
We believe that God loves everyone, including homosexuals, and offers them the same opportunity for salvation, healing, and deliverance.
We believe that just as God loves everyone, He will never condone anything that goes against the very nature of His creation and His Word.
While we will not tolerate or agree with any views that uphold physical or emotional abuse to anyone that is homosexual, this does not mean that we are in agreement with the act of homosexuality. The word of God makes clear statements concerning this.
Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.
Romans 1:26-28 King James Version (KJV) - For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
The order in which God created things has a deeper purpose that we alone cannot grasp. Dishonoring that order has consequences that we likewise are unable to grasp on our own. Due to this, we cannot offer anyone a position at Step Out that practices homosexuality. We will always honor the order of God.
We believe that God is no respecter of colors, and that no color or race is above any other race or color.
We are proud that Step Out is made up of all races. Racism will not be tolerated within Step Out on any level. Nowhere in His word does God divide people based on color. God looks to the heart of each person and this is what separates the righteous from the unrighteous.
The fact that this world is made up of many different races and cultures simply confirms the beautiful creative heart of our Creator.
We believe that every child, from the moment of conception, has the right to live, and only God can take his or her life away.
At Step Out we stand by the fact that God is a God of life. We understand that some conceptions are the product of painful acts committed against the mother. We also understand that there are pregnancies that medically threaten the mother's life. However, even in the face of situations like these, we will try our best to help mothers understand why this life has been entrusted to them.
Every situation is unique and different but what remains the same is that life comes from God alone in spite of the situation in which the life is introduced.
It is not always easy to understand why God does things in certain ways. but we hope to be able to help women access God through their own personal relationship with Him, which will open up the understanding and purpose behind things in their lives.
